Our Bullitt Mustang tribute was built two days after the “559” movie Mustang on January 11, 1968 in the same San Jose plant.

While the original owners are unknown, this car was purchased in 1994 and painted for the short-lived ABC television show, McKenna. This is a photo of the car with actor Eric Close. An old title corroborates the story of this car’s involvement in the show, and a layer of red paint was found by Steve and Tim during the bodywork process.

In July 1996, this Mustang was purchased from the production company who shot McKenna. It was painted a metallic blue/purple and its factory 289 was replaced with a crate 302.

The car was then sold to us in 2013, and the Bullitt transformation began.
