This car came to us with a really nice paint job and a very straight body overall. There were a few rust bubbles visible, but the car looked great. The previous owner was a family friend who had the engine and paint done.

  • Steve and Tim

After several years of side projects, the running gear was replaced and the car was ready for its transformation. Steve Mulcahy (left) and Tim Deal (right) went to work on this at Steve’s Garage in Boring, Oregon. These guys did the most amazing job prepping and shooting this car. The problem areas with rust bubbles were cut out and re-welded for a rust-free body. The finished product speaks for itself, but the attention to detail and commitment to perfection is second to none.

  • Stripped

In less than two weeks, the paint was stripped off. Only a few dirty secrets were hiding under the paint, but nothing that Steve and Tim couldn’t handle.

  • Taking Shape

After weeks of prep work, it was time to shoot. To be completely honest, only Steve and Tim know how many steps were involved in the shooting, sanding, buffing and polishing process. The end result is incredible.

  • Attention to Details

The black rear end components created extra steps in an already complicated process, but every effort was made to re-create Max Balchowsky’s look.

  • Coming Together

After months of work, the body was finished. All that remained were a few adjustments and to re-install the trim.

  • Ready to Go

The paint and body work is complete, and the Bullitt Mustang tribute is taking shape. Check out the Movie Details page for more of the work from Steve’s Garage.
